Is work experience commensurate with having a college degree?
Fatdude427 asked:
I am a legal assistant from Georgia. I am certified as such. I only have a few months experience thus far.
Being that I do not have a college degree, I sometimes wish I did. I haven’t been able to earn the respect of my employers (two so far).
If I were to start working at a lawfirm soon, and I end up having five solid years of experience as a legal assistant, is that experience comparable to having, say, a bachelor’s degree in prelaw? I mean, would an employer/law firm consider me as being as valuable as someone with a four year degree if I had the work experience?
Which is better, specifically, in helping to earn decent money in this particular arena: experience, or education?

A college degree is always valuable. Coupled with your work experience, you should get a big pay spike. You could probably get the degree online. It’s always worth it, to get a degree.
Education……..opens doors…….
